The Salem Baptist Christian Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of University Christian. Salem Baptist Christian was down 39-18 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Salem Baptist Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mason Gregg, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gregg has scored all season. Parker Copeland was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Among those leading the charge was Reece Morin, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Patrick Garmon, who scored ten points.
Salem Baptist Christian's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-19. As for University Christian, their victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Davidson Day the next time they take the court. University Christian will head out to face Davidson Day at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Salem Baptist Christian will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
