Midland Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caleb Cruz and Cutter Smith. Cruz is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Midland Christian got some further help from Brady Young: he picked up a sack, made five total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass.
Meanwhile, All S beat Trinity Christian 38-30 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Saints' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Lions are ranked 663rd).
All S' win came from a few key players Midland Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hudson Reasor, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 57 yards. Hudson Harbuck was in the mix too, providing All S with one touchdown.
All S' defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. Trinity Christian's QB won't forget Kingston Beyer anytime soon given he sacked him 3.5 times. Thanks to that big game, Beyer is now up to 7.5 sacks on the season. All S received some extra help from Harbuck, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for All S, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaytn Briles, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Midland Christian's record now sits at 5-2. As for All S, their record is now 7-0.
Midland Christian might still be hurting after the 49-28 defeat they got from All S when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Mustangs, Gavin Parkhurst (who threw for 146 yards and five TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 124 yards on only 14 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
