Baseball Recap: Portland Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

On Tuesday Portland's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Ionia Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Portland's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.0 runs this season. As for Ionia, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Portland will head out to square off against Williamston at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ionia, they will host Alma at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
