The Cardinal O'Hara Lions will head out to face off against the Hatboro-Horsham Hatters at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hatboro-Horsham took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cardinal O'Hara, who comes in off a win.
Last Wednesday, Cardinal O'Hara sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over Father Judge. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted against the Crusaders since May 7, 2018.
Jack Quinn and Michael Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Quinn tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Brown tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Quinn scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Brown scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Brendan Till was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sean MacGillivary, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Hatboro-Horsham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Upper Moreland. That's two games in a row now that the Hatters have lost by exactly two runs.
Hatboro-Horsham saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Canney, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That hit was Canney's first of the season. Ricky Klenk was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
The victory got Cardinal O'Hara back to even at 1-1. As for Hatboro-Horsham, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Cardinal O'Hara couldn't quite finish off Hatboro-Horsham in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Cardinal O'Hara avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
