The Wake Prep Academy Guardians will head out on the road to challenge the Wakefield Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wake Prep Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Wake Prep Academy is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 14-2 to East Wake Academy.

Wake Prep Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Latta, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wakefield came out on top against Heritage on Monday by a score of 5-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Tyler Rotellini tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

Wakefield is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Wake Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Wake Prep Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Guardians have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Wakefield, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Wake Prep Academy continue to outrun the ball?

Wake Prep Academy might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Wakefield when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can the Guardians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
