With a playoff game on the line, the Dripping Springs Tigers rose to the challenge on Saturday. They snuck past the Rockets with a 38-34 victory. Winning may never get old, but Dripping Springs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Dripping Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cooper Reid led the charge by picking up 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jack Williams was another key contributor, throwing for 248 yards and two touchdowns.
Several Rockets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nathaniel Stanley, who rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns.
Dripping Springs' victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Judson, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Dripping Springs will head out on the road to face off against Jay at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Jay will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Judson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
