The Cardinal Mooney Cougars waltzed into their matchup  on Thursday with three straight wins  but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southeast 66-36 on the road. Given Cardinal Mooney's advantage  in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings  (they are ranked 150th, while Southeast is ranked 380th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Cardinal Mooney was led to victory by  Kevin O'donoghue and  Connor Heald.  O'donoghue  scored 23 points, while  Heald  scored 20 points along with five  assists and two  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  O'donoghue has scored all season.  Devin Mignery was another key contributor,  scoring six points.
 Cardinal Mooney is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last eight matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Southeast, they are  on a five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 7-11.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardinal Mooney's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bradenton Christian at 7:30  p.m.  on January 19th. Bradenton Christian will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Southeast, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Braden River at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Braden River and Southeast are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
