ALA - Queen Creek is 0-6 against Saguaro since March of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Patriots will welcome the Sabercats at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Saguaro will be up against a hot ALA - Queen Creek squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Patriots came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against Mica Mountain.
Xander Mcrae looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Seth Nielson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Tayden Brewer, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Saguaro came out on top against ALA - Gilbert North on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Sabercats had just enough and edged out the Eagles 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sabercats have posted since March 12th.
AJ Busseri looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Louis Busseri was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Bratspis, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Saguaro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Saguaro's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-11-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for ALA - Queen Creek, their win bumped their record up to 23-3.
ALA - Queen Creek suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Saguaro when the teams last played back in March. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
