Two dominant in Breckan Schluter and Wyatt Tramp are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Exeter-Milligan/Friend Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Crofton Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Exeter-Milligan/Friend comes in on eight and Crofton on 11.
With a playoff game on the line, Exeter-Milligan/Friend rose to the challenge on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-28 win over St. Patrick's.
Schluter was his usual excellent self, rushing for 279 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Crofton stacked a ninth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Elkhorn Valley on the road to the tune of 64-22.
Crofton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tramp, who rushed for 213 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Jace Panning, who gained 149 total yards and three touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Crofton's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Braxton Foxhoven was the leader with two sacks.
Their wins bumped Exeter-Milligan/Friend to 10-1 and Crofton to 11-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Exeter-Milligan/Friend has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 325.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Crofton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 283.5 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
