Baseball Recap: Buna Has No Trouble Against Warren

Buna never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Warren Warriors with a sharp 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Luke Gomez was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. James Farr was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Buna always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren only posted an OBP of .167.

The win made it two in a row for Buna and bumps their season record up to 11-6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Warren, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buna will challenge Kountze at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warren, they will square off against East Chambers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
