Baseball Recap: First Coast Takes a Loss

First Coast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Episcopal School of Jacksonville Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Buccaneers of the 12-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2020.

Rob Chatman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. First Coast is 4-2 when Chatman posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

First Coast's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Episcopal School of Jacksonville, their record is now 14-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Coast will host Orange Park at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Episcopal School of Jacksonville, they will square off against Providence School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
