The Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles suffered their biggest loss since November 18, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Camp Verde at home and fell 60-32. While losing is never fun, Scottsdale Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Camp Verde is ranked 97th).
Rachel Roderick was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds for Camp Verde. That makes it six consecutive games in which Roderick has scored at least a third of Camp Verde's points. Wa'siiva Lewis was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Scottsdale Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Camp Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scottsdale Christian Academy will take on Gilbert Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Camp Verde, they will be playing at home against Northwest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
