The Carson Cougars will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans at 5:30  p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
 Carson scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Friday. They were the clear victor by  a  12-6 margin over Robinson. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Carson with their most commanding win of the season.
  Caylee Snow made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up  five earned  (and two unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Snow was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Mckenzie Powers was  excellent,  going 1-for-5 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple. Another player making a difference was  Alyssa Benner, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Northwest Cabarrus can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent  contest  on Friday. They blew past Concord 16-1. That's two games straight that Northwest Cabarrus has won by  exactly 15  runs.
 Like Carson, Northwest Cabarrus also got a great game from a two-way player:  Haylee Ellis. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing four innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   two  hits. Ellis was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Alayna Gaffney was  incredible,  going 4-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI.  Kaylee Corbin was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
 The  win  made it two in a row for Carson and  bumps their season record up to 3-11. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they now  have a winning record of 6-5.
 Carson took their  victory against Northwest Cabarrus  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023 by a conclusive  11-1. Does  Carson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northwest Cabarrus turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
