This season hasn't been kind to the Notre Dame Jugglers, who are still winless after their sixth game. They were dealt a 118-58 defeat at the hands of Rome Free Academy on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Notre Dame can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 671st, while Rome Free Academy is ranked 21st).
Uzziah Grimes was his usual excellent self, scoring 39 points along with six rebounds and four steals for Rome Free Academy. Grimes hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Surafia Norries was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists.
Notre Dame bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rome Free Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Notre Dame will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Holland Patent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rome Free Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Henninger at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Henninger comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
