Miami Trace has gone a perfect 3-0 against Greeneview recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panthers will host the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Miami Trace will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Miami Trace is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Wilmington 20-1 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Hurricane: they've now won four in a row.
Cody McMillan looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, Gage Bowers was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Evan Colegrove, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Miami Trace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wilmington only posted an OBP of .316.
Meanwhile, Greeneview didn't have quite enough to beat Perry on Saturday and fell 11-10. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by just one run.
Greeneview saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Penrod, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Andy Burkett was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Miami Trace pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Greeneview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Miami Trace has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. However, it's not like Greeneview struggles in that department as they've averaged .478. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Miami Trace beat Greeneview 5-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2018. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
