The Scott Beavers suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Hugoton by a score of 43-40. It was the first time this season that Scott let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Scott still got an impressive performance from Jackson Rumford, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Rumford hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Sage Stoecklein, who scored 11 points.
Scott's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Hugoton, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Scott and Southeast of Saline will face off at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Southeast of Saline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Hugoton, Hugoton and Sterling will face off on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Sterling's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
