The Saltillo Tigers pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Center Hill 61-57. Saltillo has struggled against Center Hill recently, as their match on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Loss or not, Saltillo got some senior leadership from Cayden Howell and Gunner Wesson. Howell scored 21 points, while Wesson. scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Howell has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Owens, who scored six points.
Saltillo's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Center Hill, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.
Saltillo won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Grenada at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Grenada is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Center Hill, they will be playing at home against Olive Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Olive Branch is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
