Caldwell is 1-8 against Skyview since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. This will be Caldwell's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
Caldwell fell victim to Meridian and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 6-0 to the Warriors.
Caldwell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Arce, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Skyview strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Lewiston. The 11-run effort marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Skyview also got a great performance from Makenna Shamy as she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Shamy posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025.
On the hitting side, Khloe Howard was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Audrey Clements, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Skyview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Skyview, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Skyview's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Caldwell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Skyview, though, as they've been averaging only 3.2 strikeouts. Will Caldwell keep running through batters, or will the Hawks buck the trend?
