The Liberty Redhawks lost against the Heritage Coyotes back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Liberty took a 62-44 bruising from the Coyotes. While losing is never fun, Liberty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 629th, while the Coyotes are ranked 131st).
Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameron Lomax led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five steals. Lomax has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Miller, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Liberty has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season. As for Heritage, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-11.
Liberty will take on the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Walnut Grove is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to face off against the Trail Blazers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Lebanon Trail has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
