The Macon County Bulldogs waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past Chattahoochee County with points to spare, taking the game 61-42. This was payback for Macon County, who suffered a 46-44 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Macon County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aliyah Lake led the charge by scoring 14 points. Aniah Lake was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yaelah Protho, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Ke'Asia Hardwick, who scored ten points.
Macon County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Chattahoochee County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
Macon County will take on Taylor County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Macon County likes a good challenge. As for Chattahoochee County, they will head out on the road to square off against Greenville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
