Make it 12 blowout wins for the Fort Hancock Mustangs this season. They took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 62-29 win over Anthony. Fort Hancock's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Alessandra Jimenez, who dropped a triple-double on 28 points, 17 rebounds, and ten assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Fort Hancock's points. Jackeline Arriaga was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Despite the loss, Anthony still got an impressive performance from Angelee Guerro, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guerro has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aissa Castillo, who scored six points.
The victory (which was Fort Hancock's seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Anthony, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Hancock will take on McCamey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. McCamey is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Anthony, they will be playing at home against Wink at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wink is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
