After a string of eight wins, Elizabethton's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Daniel Boone Trailblazers by a score of 4-2. The Fighting Cyclones were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Trailblazers' pitchers proved too tough.

Elizabethton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Daniel Boone, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-4.

Coming up, Elizabethton will be playing at home against Unaka at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting Cyclones are facing the Rangers at the right time seeing as the Rangers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Daniel Boone, they will square off against Science Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
