It was a good run, but the Stone Tomcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 80-18 defeat at the hands of Laurel. Stone was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.
Laurel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayllis Walker out in front who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Walker hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. Marissa Ulmer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and five steals.
Stone's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Laurel, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3.
Stone will head out on the road to take on the Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Laurel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
