University City moved up to 666 from 713 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Central. The Centurions climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Coronado 43-0.
University City took down the Islanders 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Coronado's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Narramore threw for 31 yards and Austin Rumbo had 22 yards receiving. On the ground Jake Shepherd chipped in 48 yards. Troy Lindell helped Coronado's passing attack out by catching two balls for nine yards.
Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Michael Carrillo has thrown for 865 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Phillip George has 18 catches for 283 yards. Rayvon Owens leads the league in rushing with 1020 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Christian takes on second place University City. Christian defeated Clairemont last week, while Eric Perry's team bested Tony Isabella's team.
There should be lots of points scored when the Centurions and the Patriots face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, University City comes in having scored 162 this season, while Christian has scored 237. The Centurions scored 43 points last week as they topped the Islanders.
University City made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,983 from 9,584. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 43-0 victory over Coronado last week.
