Baseball Game Preview: Trezevant Bears vs. Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs

The Trezevant Bears will head out to challenge the Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Trezevant is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

Trezevant had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Douglass on Wednesday. Trezevant was the clear victor by a 15-3 margin over Douglass. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Rickey Wright made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Wright was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

In other batting news, Trezevant got a massive performance out of Trevionne Kelly, who scored three runs and stole eight bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Kelly has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zavion Evans, who scored three runs and stole eight bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Raleigh-Egypt scored first but ultimately less than Bolton in their match on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 8-7. The Pharaohs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The victory got Trezevant back to even at 4-4-1. As for Raleigh-Egypt, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Trezevant came up short against Raleigh-Egypt in their previous meeting on March 11th, falling 12-9. Can Trezevant avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
