The San Simon Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Baboquivari at home and fell 54-24. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for San Simon in their matchups with Baboquivari: they've now lost four in a row.
Kara Baptisto was her usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals for Baboquivari. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which Baptisto has scored at least 25% of Baboquivari's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sulamae Castro, who scored eight points along with three steals.
San Simon now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Baboquivari, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Simon will face off against St. David at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Baboquivari's road trip will continue as they head out to face San Tan Foothills at 5:30 p.m. on January 10th. Hopefully San Tan Foothills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 last Thursday.
