While Copper Basin's win against McMinn County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars won by a set and slipped past the Cherokees 2-1. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Cherokees recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Copper Basin had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-13, 25-20.

Copper Basin's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for McMinn County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coming up, Copper Basin will be playing at home against Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McMinn County, they will face off against Rhea County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
