The Southfield Arts & Tech Warriors were the 58-36 winner over the Berkley Bears when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Southfield Arts & Tech received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 68-52 to the Bears. Southfield Arts & Tech has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Leading Berkley to victory were Hailey Kirkwood and Maeve Nolan. Kirkwood scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Nolan scored 21 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nolan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blessing Nweke, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Southfield Arts & Tech's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Berkley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southfield Arts & Tech will take on the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarkston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Michigan (the Wolves are ranked 45th, while the Warriors are ranked 190th). As for Berkley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Farmington is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
