The Durango Demons lost against the Denver South Ravens back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Durango was beaten by Denver South 67-36. Durango was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.
Denver South's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Shepard, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Quinn Kelsey, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Durango and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Denver South, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Durango won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pueblo East at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Pueblo East focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday. Ponderosa knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Denver South likes a good challenge.
