North Stanly were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. Everything came up roses for them against West Montgomery on Friday as the squad secured a 51-7 victory. North Stanly have a history of success against West Montgomery, winning their last head-to-head 28-20.
North Stanly's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 28 points in the first half. Meanwhile, West Montgomery couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 28-0 heading into the break. The North Stanly defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest. The win bumped North Stanly's record up to 3-2. The loss dropped West Montgomery's record to 1-4.
Next week North Stanly take on Chatham Central at 7:00 PM. Chatham Central took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse North Stanly's good fortune. West Montgomery will be staying on the road, facing off against South Davidson. Neither of those teams wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable defeat.
