Heartland I recap Oct. 3, 2012
Weston Baylor and Isaiah Croll provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Central Columbia. The connection was good for 70 yards, the longest such play in Heartland I this season.
Shikellamy moved up to 285 from 325 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Braves were able to make the jump by beating Loyalsock Township. 21-12.
Danville's dynamic duo of Baylor and Croll proved tough for the Bluejays to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Baylor threw for 191 yards and one touchdown and Croll had 70 yards receiving. Zack Kozick helped Danville's passing attack out by catching four balls for 63 yards.
Javon Batts was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 37 yards on 12 carries as Selinsgrove lost to Central Columbia. Teammate Mike Walter added to the ground attack by rushing for eight yards.
Danville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Ironmen feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Baylor has thrown for 589 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Kozick has 10 catches for 205 yards. Sam Dressler leads the league in rushing with 448 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Danville takes on Jersey Shore. Jim Keiser's team's offense has recorded 105 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Bulldogs have permitted only 171 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Milton takes on Shamokin Area. At the moment, the Black Panthers are in third, while the Indians are in fifth.
Milton took down Carson Long Military Institute 73-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
