The Lake City Panthers will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Wilson Hall Barons at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Lake City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Saturday.
Lake City's 19-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Manning an easy 76-50 win. While losing is never fun, Lake City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Manning is ranked 73rd).
Despite the defeat, Lake City had strong showings from Bryson Rose, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds, and Blayne Edwards, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Rose scored a full 46% of Lake City's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Erique Wilson, who scored four points.
Wilson Hall has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Carolina Academy 53-33. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wilson Hall.
Lake City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Wilson Hall, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
