After a string of four wins, the Carlisle Thundering Herd's's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cumberland Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Carlisle has scored all season.
Cumberland Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nolan Buzalka, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds. The match was Buzalka's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Creston Austin, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Carlisle's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Cumberland Valley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlisle will square off against Central Dauphin East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Dauphin East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 429th, while Carlisle is ranked 37th). As for Cumberland Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Chambersburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Chambersburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
