The Grafton Spoilers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Thompson by a score of 72-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Thompson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Drew Overby, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The match was Overby's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Odenbach, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Grafton pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Thompson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Grafton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Langdon/Edmore/Munich at 5:45 a.m. on January 4, 2024. Thompson will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Des Lacs-Burlington at 8:00 p.m. on December 29th. Des Lacs-Burlington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Thompson likes a good challenge.
