Pike Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Cooper out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Cooper is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. Ezra Benne was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.
Pike Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lakeside was fully in charge back in December of 2024, breezing past Stockton 75-28. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season.
Pike Valley better keep an eye on Reece Remus. He was instrumental in Lakeside's win, going 11 of 15 on his way to 28 points along with five boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Remus a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Schmitt, who posted ten points and four steals.
Pike Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Lakeside, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Pike Valley has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Lakeside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Pike Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Lakeside in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 57-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pike Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
