The Manchester Valley Mavericks are taking a road trip to take on the Urbana Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Manchester Valley has struggled recently with nine losses in a row, while Urbana will arrive with six straight victories.
Manchester Valley is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Oakdale on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Manchester Valley came up short against Oakdale, falling 68-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mavericks have suffered since December 19, 2024.

Manchester Valley might have lost, but man, Colton Enderle was a machine: he went 10-for-21 on his way to 25 points in addition to five boards and five blocks. That's the most points Enderle has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Hottenstein, who put up seven points and three steals.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Urbana over Walkersville in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Urbana blew Walkersville out of the water with a 69-35 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hawks had established a 24 point advantage.
Urbana's win came from a few key players Manchester Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Moses Adoko, who earned 11 points and four steals. Keith Mazinga was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and three steals.
Urbana's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points over those games. As for Manchester Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Manchester Valley has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Urbana struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Manchester Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Urbana in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 53-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manchester Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
