After a string of 29 wins, the Bastrop Rams's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Wossman, falling 60-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bastrop has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Bastrop lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mariah Heard. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points. Heard has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played.
Bastrop's loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 29-1. As for Wossman, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.
Bastrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wossman will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Carroll will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Wildcats are ranked third).
