Baseball Recap: Fort Wayne South Side Takes a Loss

After flying high against Angola last Saturday, Fort Wayne South Side came back down to earth. The Archers fell just short of the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. If the Archers were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fort Wayne South Side saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Sandoval, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Sandoval is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Fort Wayne South Side now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Fort Wayne South Side will square off against Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they will challenge Woodlan at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
