Having just played yesterday, the Yuma Criminals will get right back to it and host the Kofa Kings  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Yuma knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Kofa likes a good challenge.
On Wednesday, Yuma was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  as they fell  77-73 to Cortez. While the Criminals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Colts  20-13 in the first  quarter.
 The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was  Andy Mosqueda, who  posted 21 points.  Elmer Emerson was another key player,  putting up 22  points.
Meanwhile, Kofa was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They had to suffer through  a    67-39 loss at the hands of Gila Ridge.
 Like Kofa, they lost despite seeing results from several players.  Luis Negrete led the charge by  scoring ten points along with six  rebounds and five  steals. Those five  steals gave  Negrete a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Marco Navarro, who  put up 11  points.
 Yuma's defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 11-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 74.7 points over those games. As for Kofa, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.
 Everything came up roses for Yuma against Kofa in their previous matchup  back in December of 2024, as the  team secured  a  71-32 win. In that  contest, Yuma amassed a halftime lead of  38-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat  on Thursday.
