Baseball Recap: Timberlake Wins Going Away Against Rogers

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Timberlake). Everything went their way against the Rogers Pirates on Tuesday as Timberlake made off with a 10-1 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Eric Wylie made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Wylie was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, James Moore was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Tanner Van Tassel was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Timberlake's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Rogers, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Timberlake Tigers duke it out with Medical Lake Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Medical Lake has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.75 runs per game on average), something Timberlake will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rogers, they will square off against Clarkston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
