Huntington is still winless after their contest against St. Albans on Saturday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Albans Red Dragons. One positive for the Highlanders, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

St. Albans got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaycee Elzy out in front who went 9 for 20 on her way to 29 points and six rebounds. The match was Elzy's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Vance, who posted ten points.

Huntington's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Albans, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Huntington will be taking part in a tournament against Wyoming East at 4:30 p.m. on January 6th. Wyoming East will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Huntington surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Albans, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-58 victory against Parkersburg on the 2nd.
