Independence lost against the John Champe Knights back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Independence was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to John Champe.
Several Independence players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Kunkle, who scored ten points along with six assists. Kunkle also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Ratliff, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for John Champe, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
