The Mountain Ridge Sentinels will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Herriman Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
While it was all tied up 36-36 at halftime, Mountain Ridge was not quite Riverton's equal in the second half on Friday. Mountain Ridge fell just short of Riverton by a score of 63-60. Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Will Lindsay, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Wyatt Sylvester was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Herriman had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Copper Hills by a score of 55-48. Given Herriman's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Copper Hills is ranked 53rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Malcolm Johnson was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cale Barclay, who scored eight points along with two steals.
