The Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Northwest Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.
Last Wednesday, it was a hard-fought game, but Seneca Valley had to settle for a 53-51 loss against Paint Branch. Seneca Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Marquis Watson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Korey Trone, who scored nine points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Northwest pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Magruder by a score of 59-56.
Seneca Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Northwest, they bumped their record down to 1-1 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season.
Seneca Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwest in their previous matchup back in January, winning 71-58. Does Seneca Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northwest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
