Softball Recap: Tunkhannock Extends Winning Streak to Five

Tunkhannock came tearing into Monday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack as they made off with a 12-1 win. Considering the Tigers have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Tunkhannock's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wilkes-Barre, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Tunkhannock will challenge Hazleton Area at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Wilkes-Barre, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wyoming Valley West at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolfpack will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: the Spartans will have lost three straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
