The Waverly Central Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They managed a 78-72 win over Big Sandy. The victory was familiar territory for Waverly Central who now have three in a row.
Despite the loss, Big Sandy still got an impressive performance from Cole Pierpoint, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds. Pierpoint is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Seth Green, who scored 13 points.
Waverly Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-18. As for Big Sandy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
Waverly Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Big Sandy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against McKenzie at 7:15 p.m. on February 9th. McKenzie knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Big Sandy likes a good challenge.
