The Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Western Alamance Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cedar Ridge will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Cedar Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Williams on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Red Wolves, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Mia Best made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cedar Ridge got a massive performance out of Qiaura Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Rogers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Remaly, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Cedar Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Western Alamance didn't have quite enough to beat Orange on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Bayleigh Burris made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off three home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4.
Cedar Ridge's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Western Alamance, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cedar Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Western Alamance struggles in that department as they've averaged .416. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cedar Ridge beat Western Alamance 3-0 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Red Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
