The DePue/Hall Little Giants couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 54-40 to Cornerstone Christian.
Leading Cornerstone Christian to victory were Hope Lehman and Faith Hughes. Lehman scored 18 points, while Hughes scored 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hughes has scored at least 25% of Cornerstone Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Berry, who scored 5 points.
DePue/Hall's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Cornerstone Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3.
DePue/Hall will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Flanagan/Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will be playing at home against Donovan/St. Anne at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
