If the Pawnee City Indians were feeling good off their 56-20 takedown of the Lewiston Tigers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pawnee City took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats on Friday.
Pawnee City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hallye Friedly, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Friedly pulled down eight or more rebounds. Cameron Ottersberg was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Leading Exeter-Milligan/Friend to victory were Malorie Staskal and Savana Krupicka. Staskal dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Krupicka scored 15 points along with eight steals. Krupicka continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aniston Meints, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Pawnee City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Pawnee City's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, they will face off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Southern comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
