Last Friday, Eden Prairie faced Wayzata in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eden Prairie had just enough and edged Wayzata out 56-53.
It was another big night for Tori Schlagel, who scored 20 points along with two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last four games she's played. Rae Ehrman was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
In what's become a running theme this season, St. Michael-Albertville gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Buffalo, posting a 85-35 win on the road. Given St. Michael-Albertville's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Buffalo is ranked 157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eden Prairie's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for St. Michael-Albertville, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
Eden Prairie beat St. Michael-Albertville 66-58 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eden Prairie since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
